2020 North American Teams Championships Postponed until 2021

Every year, we look forward to bringing together table tennis players from all over the world for what has become one of the largest tournaments in North America. However, given the current concerns surrounding COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s North American Teams Championships. There are two unavoidable concerns that have caused us to make this decision at this time.

First, our primary concern is and always will be the responsibility we feel towards the well-being of our participants and our community. With the number of U.S. COVID-19 cases reaching almost 7 million, we do not feel that it is in the best interest of anyone to proceed with a tournament this year.

Second is the uncertainty caused by the fact that the state of Maryland has called for a ban on sports gatherings and events of more than 10 people. This makes it impossible for us to host an event of this scale and we do not know when the state order will be rescinded.

As such, JOOLA and North American Table Tennis have decided to postpone the 3-day North American Teams Championships until Thanksgiving weekend of 2021. All of those who have paid and registered for 2020 have had their registrations automatically transferred to the 2021 event and should have already received an email notifying you of this change or will receive one shortly, provided we have an email address.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adapt to these uncertain times. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to send us an email at info@natabletennis.com.
